FULL TIME – 40 hours per week

Salary: £29,000 to £32,400 (subject to knowledge and experience)

Job Summary

Corrigenda are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and dedicated electrical maintenance engineer to carry out planned and reactive maintenance / fault diagnosis on electrical systems such as motors, lighting, small power, emergency lighting, distribution systems and minor new works to electrical services. The role will be predominantly based in the PO postcode area which includes 3 days a week on a static site, there will also be a requirement to carry out some general handyman tasks. The role will also include working on various sites within the Hampshire area.

The candidate would need to be flexible with working hours, as there will be requests for works to be delivered outside of normal working hours.

The candidate would need good practical / organisational skills, with the ability to follow technical instructions and an understanding of safe working practices. If required, training will be provided to fulfil the required tasks.

Key Responsibilities include (but not limited to)

  • Carry out planned and reactive maintenance across the estate as directed by Contract Manager (within capabilities and training)
  • Work on own or as part of team to meet required deadlines and contract performance standards
  • Work flexible hours to suit business requirements
  • Work safely at all times, including working at height as required
  • Liaise with site staff to gain access to sites and rooms to carry out maintenance tasks
  • Assist contract supervisor to produce repair quotations
  • Any other tasks required by company within skill set / experience

 

Minimum Requirements / Qualifications

Essential

  • NVQ Level 2 or 3 in relevant Electrical discipline (or equivalent)
  • City and Guilds 2391 certificate for inspection and test
  • Good working and practical knowledge of electrical systems
  • Recognised Health & Safety training
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work well on own or as part of team
  • Ability to achieve high levels of customer satisfaction
  • IT literate
  • Full driving license
  • Pass DBS checks

 

Desirable

  • 18th Edition training
  • PASMA / IPAF Training Qualification

 

Person Specification

  • Knowledge of electrical systems
  • Ability to train, develop and give support to apprentices
  • A key team player with a flexible and pro-active approach to work
  • Must be enthusiastic, understand and demonstrate the importance of customer satisfaction to the highest standard, and thrive when working under pressure
