Commercial Heating / Mechanical Engineer - PO

Salary: £28,000 to £33,000

(subject to knowledge and experience)

Corrigenda are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and dedicated Commercial Heating / Mechanical Engineer to carry out general planned and reactive maintenance tasks such as fault finding on commercial heating / hot water systems, carrying out repairs / replacing parts, installation and commissioning of appliances, servicing to air handling units / fan convectors / extractor fans, TMV maintenance, various plumbing works. Predominantly working in the PO postcode’s and surrounding areas within Hampshire.

The candidate would need good practical / organizational skills, with the ability to follow technical instructions and an understanding of safe working practices. If required, training will be provided to fulfil the required tasks.

Key Responsibilities Include
(but not limited to):

• Carry out planned and reactive maintenance across the estate as directed by Contract Manager (within capabilities and training)
• Work on own or as part of team to meet required deadlines and contract performance standards
• Work flexible working hours to suit business requirements
• Work safely at all times, including working at height as required
• Liaise with site staff to gain access to sites and rooms to carry out maintenance tasks
• Assist contract supervisor to produce repair quotations
• Any other tasks required by company within skill set / experience

Minimum Requirements / Qualifications:

Essential
• NVQ Level 2 HVAC City and Guilds qualification (or equivalent)
• Good working and practical knowledge of commercial heating / hot water systems
• Recognised Health & Safety training
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• IT literate
• Full driving license
• Pass DBS checks

Desirable
• Unvented water systems
• WRAS Qualification
• Electrical safety training

 

Person Specification:

• Knowledge of HVAC systems
• Ability to train, develop and give support to apprentices
• A key team player with a flexible and pro-active approach to work
• Must be enthusiastic, understand and demonstrate the importance of customer satisfaction to the highest standard, and thrive when working under pressure
