Maintenance Engineer - Hampshire County Council

FULL TIME – 40 hours per week

 

Salary: £22,000 to £27,000 (subject to knowledge and experience)

Reporting to: Service Manager

Corrigenda are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and dedicated Maintenance Engineer to carry out general planned and reactive maintenance tasks such as TMV maintenance, 2nd operative for working at height, kitchen canopy cleaning, minor plumbing repairs and portable appliance testing. The type of properties includes buildings such as offices, schools, libraries, fire stations and police stations across the eastern side of Hampshire.

You would need good practical / organisational skills, with the ability to follow technical instructions and an understanding of safe working practices. If required, training will be provided to fulfil the required tasks

Key Responsibilities Include
(but not limited to):

  • Carry out planned and reactive maintenance across the estate as directed by Service Manager (within capabilities and training)
  • Work on own or as part of team to meet required deadlines and contract performance standards
  • Work flexible working hours to suit business requirements
  • Work safely at all times, including working at height as required
  • Liaise with site staff to gain access to sites and rooms to carry out maintenance tasks
  • Any other tasks required by company within skill set / experience

Minimum Requirements / Qualifications:

Essential

  • Recognised Health & Safety training
  • Experience in a similar role
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to achieve high levels of customer satisfaction
  • Ability to work well on own or as part of team
  • IT literate
  • Full driving licence
  • Pass DBS / Police background checks for working in schools / Police stations

 

Desirable

  • NVQ 2 in Plumbing (or equivalent)

Person Specification:

  • Knowledge of electrical systems
  • Ability to train, develop and give support to apprentices
  • A key team player with a flexible and pro-active approach to work
  • Must be enthusiastic, understand and demonstrate the importance of customer satisfaction to the highest standard, and thrive when working under pressure

Package:

  • Salary £22,000 to £27,000 (subject to knowledge and experience)
