As part of the curriculum at Milton Cross Academy in Portsmouth, they asked local business from a range of industries to speak to students giving them an insight into the types of industries available when you leave school and help with their interviewing skills.
Wayne Zebedee (Contract Manager), Lawrence Barnaby (Head of Facilities Services), Amy Stevenson (HR Administrator) and Jo Holmes (Head of HR) attended on 20th July, to help the year 10 students to prepare for real life interviews, practice their skills and enhance their CVs.
Jo told us “It was great to see Milton Academy provide an opportunity for their students to enhance interview and CV skills that will be required in the near future and for us as a local employer to be able to support and provide feedback. We were grateful to spend time with local students and we certainly had some fascinating conversations”.
We will continue to offer support to the education sector by holding additional mock interview days, career events where possible and assist in furthering construction career knowledge throughout and across all contract portfolios within Corrigenda.
