Creating a Safe Space: Corrigenda Revamps Children’s Garden into a Safe Haven
In collaboration with local businesses and the Stop Domestic Abuse Team, Corrigenda recently transformed a garden refuge space in Portsmouth, into a safe and uplifting haven for children and families affected by domestic abuse.
The team undertook a full garden refurbishment in March 2025, removing waste and old furniture and revitalising the area with artificial turf, painted fencing, raised beds and a new bench. Play features and hand-crafted decorations added warmth to this much-needed sanctuary.
Feedback from the site speaks volumes:
“What an absolutely amazing transformation and fabulous team. It looks great and I’m sure the residents appreciate how you’ve made their garden into a pleasant and functional space.” – Onsite Volunteer and Routes to Employment Manager
“We are truly humbled by your support.” – Onsite Deputy Service Manager Refuge
This project was made possible thanks to support from Southern Artificial Grass, SMC, Corrigenda colleagues (Laura Negus, Josh Stagg, Fadil Czerki, Steve Levien and Jack Vowles) and our partners at Portsmouth City Council.
A huge thank you to everyone who helped make this transformation a reality!
