Mechanical Estimator

FULL TIME – 40 hours per week

Salary: £35,000 – £45,000 (subject to knowledge and experience)

Corrigenda are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and dedicated Mechanical Estimator to provide estimating and administration support as required ensuring that mechanical estimates / enquiries undertaken are priced and prepared in a responsive and timely manner. The role will be based from our Segensworth office, however will cover sites in, but not limited to, Hampshire, Surrey and West Sussex.

Key Responsibilities Include
(but not limited to):

• Supporting the estimating team in facilitating the competitive pricing of all tenders received
• Read all tender documents before an estimate is started and ensure any discrepancies between spec / drawings / tender summary are picked up.
• Reading Construction drawings
• Identifying risks and tender complexity
• Carry out site visits for tendering purposes
• Taking off quantities where necessary from drawings.
• Utilising Contract Master Software, prepare estimate in line with exact tender summary provided. (Training provided)
• Updating our financial software with details of quotes submitted for reporting purposes
• Sending out enquiries for materials and sub-contract items.
• Receiving and evaluate prices for materials and sub-contractors.
• Analysing sub-contractor / supplier quotations for the most competitive and compliant
• Presenting the any tender to the Senior Estimator / Head of Projects for adjudication.
• Finalising any changes made and submit the price.
• Price variations as required
• Attending relevant meetings

Minimum Requirements / Qualifications:


• Experience in an estimating mechanical project works
• Basic understanding of Construction drawings.
• The drive and ability to self manage workload
• Intermediate level skills in Microsoft word and excel.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to liaise with all groups/levels of people both internally and externally.
• Experience with Trimble software and Amtech is desirable.
• Ability to work flexibly and manage multiple tasks.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Excellent literacy and numeracy skills.
• Ability to manage time effectively and be proactive.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

• Work well under pressure
• Full UK driving licence
• Be able to operate SMART devices and complete electronic documentation


• Salary £35,000 to £45,000 (depending on experience)
