Contract Manager – Surveyor

Salary Grade: MG3 – Contract Manager – Surveyor on secondment
Salary Range: £42,000

To work on a secondment with one of our key contracts, as an electrical/mechanical surveyor, delivering reactive maintenance and minor works. Following instructions from our client to perform building surveys, planning and overseeing on going projects as needed.

The job is a field-based role in the Surrey region with close liaison required on site with both our internals teams and the client / end users. The successful candidate should ideally have experience in working on similar works within a council environment.

Key Responsibilities Include
(but not limited to):

Planning & Organising
Deliver projects and/or audits within a defined area of work as directed to input to relevant strategies and contribute to the delivery of directorate objectives.

Policy and Compliance
Input as required to the development of strategies and policies. Provide guidance and support to stakeholders as required to ensure policy and specification compliance.

People & partnerships
Deliver high quality technical advice/ services engaging a range of stakeholders.
Liaise, communicate and build relationships with other departments, customers, partner organisations, agencies and/or contractors to engage and consult on plans or projects as appropriate. May manage a team to deliver standardised processes and ensure all officers are appropriately supervised, managed and trained.

Resources
Ensure that work and projects are delivered within agreed resources and assist with budget/resource management in accordance with organisational policies and procedures. May have delegated responsibility for a budget(s).

Analysis, Reporting & Documentation
Assess data and conduct analysis in a technical area, presenting results and putting forward recommendations to support decision making.

Customer Satisfaction
Communicate with customer ensuring customer satisfaction is maintained and site interruptions/disturbances are fully liaised to clients. Ensure customers are kept aware of work progress and any difficulties or changes that effect time, cost, or quality
Attend client meetings when required
Deal with queries from engineers, clients, and end users in a professional and helpful manner

Knowledge, Experience and Skills:

• Relevant qualifications / experience in similar role
• CITB SMSTS or similar level of safety related training
• Ability to negotiate with and influence others.
• Flexibility in working out of hours / weekends, as and when client requirements dictate need
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to achieve high levels of customer satisfaction
• Ability to work well on own or as part of team
• IT literate
• Full driving licence / willingness to travel
• Pass DBS checks for working in schools
