Electrical Improver - Projects
FULL TIME – 40 hours per week

Job Summary
Due to the continued growth of our Measured Term Contract (MTC), we are looking for a motivated and hardworking Electrical Improver to join our team, working primarily on minor electrical projects at Salisbury Hospital.
This role offers the opportunity to gain valuable hands-on experience while supporting the electrical team on various projects. The successful candidate will work alongside approved electricians and other site staff to assist in the completion of electrical installation and maintenance work.
Key Responsibilities Include
(but not limited to):
• Assist with electrical installation, maintenance, and testing works under the supervision of an Approved
Electrician.
• Support the electrical team in ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and performance standards.
• Help with the replacement and installation of Distribution Boards (DB), wiring upgrades, LV panel
upgrades, and internal and external lighting upgrades.
• Maintain tools, materials, and equipment, ensuring they are used correctly and safely.
• Work flexibly to support business and client needs, including occasional out-of-hours work if required.
• Follow instructions and procedures to ensure all work is completed efficiently and to a high standard.
• Maintain a safe working environment for yourself, the team, hospital staff, and the public at all times.
• Collaborate with engineers and site staff to ensure smooth project execution and site access.
• Assist in managing materials and stock levels on-site.
Minimum Requirements / Qualifications:
Essential
• Part-qualified or working towards NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation.
• Experience working on electrical projects in a commercial or healthcare environment is desirable.
• Basic understanding of electrical compliance, certification, and regulations.
• Strong willingness to learn and develop skills under supervision.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work as part of a team.• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• A proactive, adaptable, and safety-conscious approach to work.
• A full UK driving licence.
Desirable
• Experience working within a hospital or healthcare environment.
• Awareness of CDM regulations and Risk Assessments & Method Statements (RAMS).
• Basic IT skills for documentation and certification processing.
• Previous experience assisting with electrical installation or maintenance.
