Job Summary

Due to our continuous growth, Corrigenda are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and dedicated Mechanical Estimator to provide estimating and administration support to ensure that mechanical estimates / enquiries are priced and prepared in a responsive and timely manner.

Key Responsibilities Include
(but not limited to):

• Supporting the estimating team in facilitating the competitive pricing of all tenders received
• Read all tender documents before an estimate is started and ensure any discrepancies between spec / drawings / tender summary are picked up
• Reading Construction drawings
• Identifying risks and tender complexity
• Carry out site surveys for tendering purposes
• Taking off quantities where necessary from drawings
• Utilising Contract Master Software, prepare estimate in line with exact tender summary provided. (Training provided)
• Updating our financial software with details of quotes submitted for reporting purposes
• Sending out enquiries for materials and sub-contract items
• Receiving and evaluate prices for materials and sub-contractors
• Analysing sub-contractor / supplier quotations for the most competitive and compliant
• Presenting the any tender to the Senior Estimator / Head of Projects for adjudication
• Finalising any changes made and submit the price
• Price variations as required
• Attending relevant meetings

Minimum Requirements / Qualifications:

Essential
• Experience in an estimating mechanical project works
• Understanding of Construction drawings
• The drive and ability to self-manage workload
• Intermediate level skills in Microsoft word and excel
• Strong communication skills with the ability to liaise with all groups/levels of people both internally and externally
• Ability to work flexibly and manage multiple tasks
• Strong attention to detail
• Excellent literacy and numeracy skills
• Ability to manage time effectively and be proactive
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Work well under pressure
• Full UK driving licence

Desirable
• Experience with industry specific estimating software
