Safety, Health and Environment Manager
FULL TIME – 40 hours per week

We are looking to recruit an experienced Safety, Health and Environment Manager to lead on, improve and maintain Safety, Health and Environment standards within the company, ensuring that Corrigenda is legally compliant, and that procedures are effectively implemented and that our accredited standards are maintained.
You will report to the CEO and work closely with the Board, Heads of Department and Senior Managers across the company. The role will play a vital part in the company meeting its strategic objectives. The role is based in our Whiteley office with occasional travel to our various sites across the South This role can be a great opportunity for the right autonomous Health and Safety Professional to work within a successful and friendly business.
Key Responsibilities Include
(but not limited to):
Health & Safety ISO45001
• Provides Health and Safety advice and guidance to stakeholders in the company
• Ensures the company are compliant with UK legislation for health, safety and environment
• Engages across stakeholders to drive improvement across the health, safety and environment
• Engages with key internal and external stakeholders including contractors, regulators, and enforcement agencies
• Undertakes monthly site audits and annual H&S audits
• Updates and communicates the annual H&S policy
• Manages company Toolbox talks process
• Track, monitor and report on accidents & near misses, ensure investigations are undertaken and report any RIDDOR events
• Facilitates the quarterly H&S meeting with Heads of departments
• Facilitates the quarterly H&S meeting with employee reps
• Undertakes COSHH Assessments annual review
• Completes new suppliers H&S check and approve new suppliers as appropriate
• Reports on H&S Annual stats
• Ensures that all relevant accreditations are renewed e.g HCS Safety, BESA
• Premises:
o Ensure all testing is carried out (Fire, CCTV, access control etc)
o Undertake annual fire risk assessments
o Undertake office risk assessments and legionella tests
• Remains up to date with any H&S regulation changes or updates e.g COVID
Environmental ISO 14001
• Maintain the company’s Waste Carrier Licence
• Log environmental usage, including fleet fuel carbon, utilities
• Maintain company aspects and impacts register
Quality ISO 9001
• Manages internal and external ISO Audits and follow up on non-compliance points raised
• Facilities and manages the ISO Management Review meeting annually
• Ensures the intranet is up to date with regards to risk opportunities and quality, H&S and environmental objectives
Training
• Create & Update E Learning Courses including for:
o Environmental Awareness
o Display screen equipment (DSE) workstation checklist
Knowledge and Experience:
Essential:
• Experience in a similar role
• NEBOSH General Certificate
• Excellent knowledge of ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001
• Excellent communication skills with proven experience engaging colleagues and a wide range of stakeholders
• A strong technical knowledge across relevant health and safety legislation
• Displays a high level of technical/functional/professional knowledge and expertise and constantly updates knowledge to ensure expertise remains relevant
• Works cooperatively and effectively with others in a team to achieve shared objectives
• Creates and develops the effective relationships needed to achieve business results and to develop technically and professionally
• Sets challenging personal goals and demonstrates personal energy, drive and determination to achieve them even in the face of pressure or problems, whilst maintaining working relationships
• Works to own initiative – ‘Self-starter’
