Job summary
Corrigenda are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Store Person/Delivery Driver to join our team. This role is vital in ensuring efficient delivery and collection of materials and equipment, maintaining an organised and safe working environment, and supporting the success of our projects.
Based at our Winchester office, you will be responsible for servicing sites across Hampshire. This role requires strong organisational and practical skills, the ability to follow technical instructions, and an understanding of safe working practices.
Key Responsibilities Include
(but not limited to):
• Material Collection & Delivery: Coordinate and execute the collection and transport of materials as directed by Service Managers, accommodating flexible hours (early starts/late finishes) to meet business needs.
• Material Knowledge: Maintain a basic understanding of mechanical, electrical, and building fabric materials to accurately fulfil site requisitions.
• Route Planning: Schedule weekly diaries and plan transit routes logically to minimize mileage and optimize fuel and time efficiency.
• Waste Management: Collect site waste, transfer it to designated yard or disposal areas, and ensure strict compliance with waste segregation and consignment paperwork.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness and organization across the warehouse and external yard.
• Ensure all fire escape routes and access points remain completely unobstructed.
• Keep the COSHH register up to date and ensure the safe storage and handling of chemicals.
• Coordinate the delivery, exchange, and collection of site skips.
• Process incoming deliveries, notify relevant managers, and correctly segregate items for stock or return.
• Track, record, and audit company assets, verifying their operational condition upon issue and return.
• Hire Equipment: Manage the prompt collection and return of hired tools and equipment to external hire providers.
• Health & Safety Compliance: Actively participate in regular toolbox talks and consistently adhere to company health, safety, and environmental standards.
• Digital Documentation: Utilise smart devices to accurately complete, update, and submit daily electronic records and operational paperwork.
Minimum Requirements / Qualifications:
Essential
• Full, clean UK driving license
• Confident in driving a large transit-sized or flatbed van, with proper loading and securing of materials
• Self-motivated, able to work on own initiative, and part of a team
• Strong communication skills
• Proficient in using SMART devices and completing electronic documentation
• Ability to pass DBS checks for work in schools
Desirable
• Health & Safety qualification or ability to obtain a CSCS card.
